Job Description

Permanent RN Progressive Care Unit Night Shift

Location: Waco TX 76712
Shift: 12 HR Nights 07:00 PM - 07:00 AM
Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
Compensation: Based on experience

Essential Functions:
  • Perform comprehensive clinical assessments and prioritize care based on patient and family needs.
  • Develop implement and evaluate individualized care plans making adjustments as necessary to achieve desired health outcomes.
  • Build therapeutic relationships with patients and families demonstrating professionalism compassion and effective communication.
  • Educate patients families and the community about health management medications procedures and lifestyle choices.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and community resources to ensure coordinated and effective care.
  • Safely delegate tasks to appropriate team members providing follow-up and support.
  • Apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills in fast-paced complex patient care environments.
  • Consistently prioritize safety efficiency and effectiveness in care delivery.
  • Promote teamwork professional development and a positive work environment.
  • Support peers and contribute to community health initiatives as appropriate.
Key Success Factors:
  • In-depth knowledge of nursing standards procedures and patient care best practices.
  • Understanding of local/state nursing laws regulations and hospital policies.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology common diseases treatment options and medications.
  • Strong commitment to ethical nursing practice and patient privacy rights.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and respectfully with diverse populations.
  • Skilled in critical thinking and rapid clinical decision-making.
  • Proficient in basic computer programs and systems including Microsoft Office electronic medical records (EMR) email scheduling and secure documentation platforms.
Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Current and valid RN license in the State of Texas.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification-Must have BLS certification or get it within 30 days of starting in this role.
