Travel Operations Officer

Fixed Term Contract until 29.06.2026

Grade*(consultation grade - subject to formal evaluation under the Pay Equity Review)

Working 36.50 hours per week

Work base - Birmingham and hybrid working with travel across Birmingham


The Children and Young Peoples Travel Service (CYPTS) provide transport solutions helping over 6000 children and young people to attend education.

As a Travel Operations Officer you will undertake route planning and daily route management with a daily overview of 1000 routes operating across the city of will also support contract management data management and compliance.

  • You will work closely with parents schools and our transport operators to give our children and families a first-class service.
  • Youll have a good understanding of the challenges faced by children and young people with special educational need and their families. Using your skills in information gathering great communication and finding good resolutions you will put children and families at the heart of what you do.
  • A large part of the this role will be using excel to filter sheets and workbooks in order to find / check information.
  • Strong excel skills attention to detail and the ability to manage a busy workload is important for this role.

The role will offer hybrid working with travel across a Travel Operations Officer there will be a requirement to travel to school sites transport operator sites and travelling on school routes where required.

This is a fixed term contract. End date 26/06/2026
