Job Summary:
In this role you will perform tasks involved in the formation and administration of purchase orders. You will prepare bidders lists qualify bidders form bid packages issue bid requests participate in negotiations recommend commitments secure approvals communicate with suppliers and monitor supplier performance. Your efforts are to ensure potential and current suppliers comply with purchase order requirements and provide the required service and results to meet project needs.
Major Responsibilities:
Communicates with Engineering to assist and/or guide them in the preparation of material requisitions for the procurement of materials and equipment and to achieve the understanding needed to process these requisitions
Forms bid packages and issues bid requests; coordinates bidders questions; and receives bidder proposals
Prepares Commercial Bid Summary and recommendations to award
Prepares and commits purchase orders within their authority
Communicates with suppliers and personnel within Bechtel to establish clear definition of requirements and to assure supplier performance to the obligations within the purchase order
Identifies defines and secures agreement regarding purchase order changes

Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires a University Hire with 1-2 years of experience or 5-6 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Understanding of all phases of procurement including knowledge of and skill in communicating effectively with suppliers bidder prequalification preparation of bidders lists compilation of bid requests knowledge of Uniform Commercial Code or applicable commercial legislation negotiation of contracted terms and conditions and award of commitments.
Administration of commitments monitoring supplier performance backcharge procedures and the resolution of claims and disputes.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with other project functional groups primarily Field Engineering and Construction.
