seeking an exceptional Chemistry faculty member. This is a full-time position in the College of Health
Professions beginning August 2025.
Responsibilities will include but are not be limited to:
Teaching course and laboratory content for Chemistry courses
Engaging students with innovative teaching practices and research
Participation in student recruitment and retention
Outcome assessment and data collection to ensure continuous improvement and to meet
regulatory requirements
Serving on departmental and university committees that support the Mission of Midland
University and the College of Health Professions
Providing service to the College of Health Professions which may include curriculum
development implementation and coordination
Providing laboratory preparation and guidance with laboratory manager and/or work study
students
Mentoring students for undergraduate progression and post-graduation educational or
employment opportunities
Maintaining subject area and pedagogical expertise as well as chemical hygiene and safety
training knowledge
Maintenance of laboratory instruments and chemical storage/disposal per safety protocols
Other duties as may be assigned by the Academic Affairs office
Qualifications:
Masters Degree in Chemistry from an accredited institution
o PhD (or ABD) in Chemistry strongly preferred
A passion for academic excellence effective teaching and educational innovation
Knowledge of curriculum development/assessment and innovative teaching methods including
technology and hybrid/online education preferred
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
Previous teaching experience at the university level scholarship/professional development and
service to a university the profession or the community
Familiarity with Canvas or other Learning Management System that facilitates face to face
hybrid and online teaching modalities
Strong interpersonal communication and collaboration skills
The ability to foster a positive work culture that encourages change and innovation
Ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders
