Job Description

Salary range is $133k to $237k with a midpoint of $185k. New hires typically receive between minimum and midpoint however we may go slightly higher based on experience internal equity and market.

GENERAL PURPOSE:

This Deputy Chief of Staff Service Delivery position is dedicated to supporting the Service Delivery department at Sound Transit. Service Delivery is responsible for ensuring safe reliable and passenger-focused transit operations across the region working in partnership with multiple operating agencies. The department manages the day-to-day experience of our riders oversees service planning and delivery and ensures that the agencys growing network of stations facilities and vehicles is well maintained and ready to serve the public.

As the Deputy Chief of Staff embedded in this high-impact department you will work closely with the Service Delivery Chief of Staff and department leadership to coordinate key initiatives advance cross-functional priorities and ensure that executive-level activities decisions and communications are aligned with both departmental goals and agency-wide strategies. This is a dynamic and fast-paced role ideal for a collaborative systems-oriented leader who thrives at the intersection of operations policy and people.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The following duties are a representative summary of the primary duties and responsibilities. Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional position-specific duties.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience: Bachelors degree in Public Administration Political Science Communications Transportation Construction Management or closely related field. Eight years of experience in transit or transportation planning engineering or construction management project or program management strategy or administrative services; Or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Six years of leadership budgetary planning and workforce management experience.
