- Salary relative to experience and ranges from $93529 to $102899 super
The role
As Supervisor Open Spaces youll lead a small team in keeping some of Sydneys most iconic open spaces safe healthy and looking their best. From the Domains sports fields to high-profile turf and arboriculture areas youll manage day-to-day operations coordinate contractors and ensure our landscapes are ready for everything from daily visitors to major events. Its a hands-on leadership role where your ability to juggle priorities keep people motivated and make smart decisions will really count.
Youll work closely with your team and stakeholders to maintain high standards across arboriculture turf and landscape works while balancing the challenges of heritage considerations changing work methods and tight budgets. Whether its implementing maintenance programs managing procurement and reporting or responding to unexpected issues youll be the go-to person making it all happen on the ground.

What you will bring to the role
- Demonstrated experience planning scheduling and managing open space maintenance programs including turf and arboriculture and landscape maintenance in high-profile public environments
- A strong foundation in horticulture with a minimum Certificate IV in horticulture arboriculture turf management or a related field
- Proven leadership capability with experience managing teams budgets projects and contractor performance in complex and dynamic environments
- Solid understanding of heritage values and regulatory requirements with the ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation Australian standards and building codes
- Experience using asset management systems and tools to track work plan maintenance and support informed decision-making
- A collaborative and people-focused approach with excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships across internal teams and external stakeholders
- A current NSW Class C Drivers Licence and the flexibility to travel between precincts as needed
Essential requirements:
- Qualifications in Horticultural or equivalent discipline
- Ability to lift and carry a minimum 15 kilos.
