As the Research Manager you will interact with state legislators and legislative staff speak with government affairs leaders and business owners and learn from issue area experts.
Typical responsibilities for the role include:
Policy research analysis and summation
Drafting and editing timely op-eds blog posts and research publications
Presenting research findings at state issue briefings and legislator academies
Representing the Center at coalition meetings
Assisting with logistics for Center events and completing administrative tasks
To succeed in the role you must be detail-oriented and a self-starter work well under pressure and possess a customer service mentality. Excellent verbal and written communication skills interpersonal skills and a can-do attitude are also keys to success. Finally you must demonstrate a strong commitment to the ALEC mission of promoting the Jeffersonian principles of limited government free markets and federalism.
