Job Description
**Working Title/Description**
Job Responsibilities:
1. Assists the special education or general education teacher in all phases of classroom activities to meet the needs of the special education students.
2. Assists the special education teacher in implementint the components of each childs Individual Educaiton Plan (IEP).
3. Assists the special education teacher in providing for the physical needs of the children.
4. Performs other duties related to serving special education students as assigned by the Director of Student Support Services teacher and/or principal.
5. Provide interpretation for educational instruction for hearing impaired student(s).
6. Teaches hearing impaired student(s) sign language.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Must have completed at least 2 yeaers of study (48 semester hours) at an institution of higher education or obtained an associates (or higher) degree.
2. Met a rigorous standard of quality as determined by a formal assessment. (National Career Readiness Certificate: ACT WorkKeys- Reading for Information Applied Mathematics and Writing subtests).
3. Must be proficient in American Sign Language.
4. Must be licensed as an Educational Interpreter through the Office of Deaf and Hard of Hearing (ODHH).
