Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

Following the devastating earthquake on March 28 in Myanmar which significantly affected infrastructure and healthcare systems in Mandalay and surrounding regions. This assessment aims to evaluate the postdisaster status of health service delivery with a focus on recovery phase. Each field team will comprise one medical team leader and two enumerators.

The contract type is Service Agreement and the duration is 2 months and extendable. The required position is five and the assigned areas are Nay Pyi Taw Mandalay Sagaing Bago and Shan.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The duties and responsibilities of the Field Medical Supervisor/ Team Leader include:

  • Serve as the primary assessor for the Health Facility Rehabilitation Assessment Tool including technical evaluation
  • Lead and coordinate enumerators in assigned clusters and townships and ensuring ethical culturally sensitive client interviews
  • Provide technical guidance (e.g. verifying service functionality interpreting health data) and clinical interpretation where necessary
  • Review data daily for quality accuracy and completeness before submission
  • Prepare and submit weekly progress reports and final assessment reports
  • Troubleshoot logistical and field issues and escalate unresolved challenges
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to align recovery efforts.

Qualifications :

KEY SKILLS

The key skills required for the position of Field Medical Supervisor/ Team Leader include;

  • Leadership in disaster or humanitarian settings.
  • Analytical skills to interpret health data and identify recovery needs.
  • Proficiency in data collection and analysis tools.
  • Crosscultural communication and stakeholder management.
  • Adaptability to remote travel and challenging environments.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent)
  • Minimum 2 years in public health clinical supervision or field assessments.
  • Experience of leading field teams or conducting facilitybased health assessments is a strong asset.
  • Strong organizational communication reporting and problemsolving skills
  • Proficient in identifying service delivery gaps infrastructure damage and recovery needs.
  • Willingness to travel extensively to remote earthquakeaffected areas.
