Schedule: Tuesday to Thursday 3 PM to 12 AM Pacific Time
Our client is a Californiabased company committed to delivering exceptional outpatient behavioral and mental health services across the state. They are seeking a highly detailoriented and experienced Medical Biller to join their expanding team. This fully remote role plays a vital part in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of medical claims specifically within the behavioral and mental health sector.

Claim Submission & Verification: Accurately prepare and submit claims for behavioral and mental health services to insurance companies (commercial Medicare Medicaid etc.) both electronically and manually. Verify patient demographics and behavioral health insurance benefits.
Payment Posting & Reconciliation: Post payments from EOBs ERAs and patient transactions accurately to the correct accounts.
Denial Management & FollowUp: Investigate and follow up on unpaid or denied claims. Address issues such as authorization problems and mental health coding errors. Submit appeals and corrected claims as needed.
Discrepancy Resolution: Resolve billing discrepancies and rejections promptly to support full revenue recovery for behavioral health services.
Accounts Receivable Management: Manage accounts receivable including collections from both patients and insurance providers.
Patient & Payer Communication: Serve as a professional point of contact for billingrelated inquiries from patients and insurance carriers. Handle sensitive behavioral health information with discretion.
Compliance & Reporting: Maintain full compliance with HIPAA regulations. Generate financial and billing reports as required. Stay up to date with California billing regulations for behavioral health.
Proven experience as a Medical Biller with specialized experience in behavioral or mental health outpatient billing highly preferred.
Solid understanding of medical billing insurance processes and revenue cycle management.
Proficiency in medical billing software and EHR systems used in behavioral health settings.
Strong knowledge of CPT ICD10 and HCPCS codes related to mental and behavioral health services.
Familiarity with insurance guidelines and reimbursement policies for commercial Medicare and Medicaid plans in California.
Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills with high attention to detail.
Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients insurance companies and internal teams.
Selfmotivated and capable of managing time effectively in a remote setting.
Professionalism and strict adherence to patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
