Under the direction of the Executive Dean of Learning the Director Library Services leads and manages library services and information services Districtwide to support the academic and research needs of students faculty and staff and to provide technical assistance on instructional support issues. The role involves strategic planning resource management including digital literacy and open educational resources (OER) and implementation of modern library technologies to enhance learning and research across the District.
Work requires the use of independent judgment prioritizing while working from broad institutional and divisional policies and general objectives. Communication is continuous between the division industry partners and specialized agencies.
Compliance with all state federal and accreditation standards/requirement as well as all MATC policies and procedures.
Required Education & Experience: Masters degree in Library Science Administration or related field from a school accredited by the American Library Association and five (5) years of related work experience with three (3) years of supervisory experience or one (1) year of staff supervision combined with an Emerging Leaders equivalency.
Preferred Education & Experience: Masters degree in Library Science Administration or related field from a school accredited by the American Library Association and more than five (5) years of related work experience with more than three (3) years of supervisory experience.

This position supports the Academic Services Department and is available to start as soon as possible.
Hours
This position is a 1.0 FTE or 40 hours per work week. Hours are Monday through Friday from 8am 4:30pm.
Salary
Salary is listed to the midpoint of the salary range and is based on the 2025 rates. Salary is determined by years of experience credit and internal salary equity.
