Learning Support Assistant Islington

Classroom Support are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistantto join our team supporting students with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). In this role you will play a crucial part in creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment tailored to the diverse needs of our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualised support to students with PMLD ASD and ADHD.

  • Collaborate with teachers and multidisciplinary teams to implement and monitor Individualised Education Plans (IEPs) ensuring each students unique needs are met.

  • Adapt and develop curriculum materials to enhance accessibility and engagement for students with varying learning profiles.

  • Assist in the development of students communication social and life skills through targeted interventions and support.

  • Foster a safe inclusive and nurturing learning environment that promotes a sense of belonging and selfconfidence among all students.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous experience working with individuals with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is highly desirable.

  • Understanding of diverse learning styles and effective strategies to support students with complex needs.

  • Demonstrated patience empathy and a positive attitude in challenging situations.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.

  • Relevant certifications or a willingness to undertake training in special education and support methodologies.

DaytoDay Duties:

  • Assist students with SEN in daily academic activities and personal development tasks.

  • Implement evidencebased strategies and activities to support students educational and personal growth.

  • Maintain regular communication with teachers therapists and other professionals to ensure cohesive and effective support plans.

  • Create and maintain a nurturing environment where all students feel valued respected and included.
