JMU Facilities Management is accepting applications for two fulltime Housekeeping Workers in the University Recreation Center (UREC). Hours are Monday Friday 4:00 a.m. 12:30 p.m. with occasional Saturdays and some rotating oncall responsibilities.
UREC operates an awardwinning stateoftheart recreation facility including an adventure center wellness center aquatics center mediation/mindfulness space and a wet/dry classroom.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform regular and special cleaning of assigned areas using manual tools and power equipment such as buffers vacuums and auto scrubbers.
Understand and practice all university safety procedures particularly as they relate to equipment operation and chemical use.
Participate in the universitys trash/recycling program.
It is likely that staff will be moved on a regular basis temporarily to meet shortterm business needs; such as summer cleans special projects shortages in other areas etc.
Qualifications:
Required:
Ability to stand for extended periods of time and perform physically demanding job duties with or without an accommodation.
Ability to work with industrialstrength chemicals and equipment including buffers scrubbers and waxers.
Ability to clean materials containing bloodborne pathogens.
Effective timemanagement skills.
Attention to detail and basic customer service aptitude.
Positive interpersonal skills and willingness to work cooperatively in a team environment are essential.
Additional Considerations:
Experience performing a variety of cleaning tasks.
