The Assistant P&D Manager works under the administrative direction of the P&D Manager. This position will lead the Planning & Development section in planning and design for State Parks & Division of Arkansas Heritages capital improvement projects. This position will also be responsible for planning and monitoring capital improvement projects for the Division of State Parks as well as the Division of Arkansas Heritage. This position serves as a member of an interdisciplinary planning team and is responsible for assisting the facility staff architects and engineers with the planning and development of new facilities and the repair/renovation/restoration of existing structures and infrastructure. Other job duties include preparing/reviewing plans and specifications formulating site development design concepts master plans and site development plans researching and assimilating information for special projects records and reports preparing and monitoring project budgets and expenditures as well as preparing funding requests. Some instate & outofstate overnight travel is required. Applicant must be able to traverse rough terrain.

Applicants must meet or exceed the following qualifications: The formal education equivalent of a bachelors degree in landscape architecture resource management or a related field; plus five years of experience in park planning historical preservation construction administration or a related field. Three years of supervisory experience required. Other jobrelated education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements except for certification or licensure requirements upon approval of the qualifications review committee.
Preferred Qualifications: The formal education equivalent of a bachelors degree in architecture; architectural studies landscape architecture construction administration and landscape architectural studies. Work experience during enrollment in preferred degree programs will be considered.
