Job Description

About the opportunity

The Rural Clinical School (RCS) is seeking to appoint a Lecturer to deliver highquality education to medical students studying at the Burnie campus in the North West region of Tasmania.

The position provides the opportunity for the appointee to deliver contemporary highquality education to medical students in the foundation years of the Bachelor of Medicine and Doctor of Medicine (BMedScMD) degree with a particular focus on course content relating to public health ethics and law. The role also extends to involvement in student professional practice projects.

The appointee will report to the Director of the Rural Clinical School and will work with a team of clinical academic staff to deliver medical education aligned with the School of Medicine and the University of Tasmanias goals of making significant socially accountable contributions to the health and wellbeing of the Tasmanian community.

What youll do:

  • Make an effective and sustained contribution to the University in achieving its strategic objectives and fulfilling its operational responsibilities.
  • Undertake scholarly undergraduate coursework teaching of a high quality.
  • Actively seek opportunities for collaboration across health disciplines to support strategic alignment of course and unit content and interprofessional learning.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of productive and effective links inside the University and locally and nationally with the discipline relevant interdisciplinary domains profession industry and/or wider community.
  • Undertake other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

What were looking for:

  • Experience in Universitylevel teaching and learning.
  • Professional experience relating to medical ethics and law and / or public health.
  • Experience in project management together with experience and/or qualifications in mixed methods and qualitative research.
  • A record of contributing to building and maintaining effective and productive links locally and nationally with the discipline profession industry (where relevant) and wider community.

Salary details

Appointment to this role will be at Academic Level B and will have a total remuneration package of up to $150759 comprising base salary within the range of $110992 to $128854 plus 17 superannuation.
