Job Description

The Department of History at High Point University is seeking a fulltime nontenure track Instructor of Latin American History (any time period). Responsibilities include teaching a 4:4 load of general education courses in Latin American History firstyear interdisciplinary courses and upperlevel seminars for the undergraduate major in Latin American History. Employment will begin in January 2026.

A record of exceptional teachingand a PhDby January 2026 is required. In addition to teaching duties will include service to the university to the Douglas S. Witcher School of Humanities and Behavioral Science and the History Department; participation in institutional activities; active engagement in student learning outside of the classroom; and upholding the universitys values and advancing its mission.

Candidates must apply through the university website. Applicants should submit a CV and a cover letter that explains their expertise in the field their teaching philosophy and summarizes their teaching and service experience.
