Position Description
The Faculty of Education at St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish Nova Scotia invites applications for the following up to 12month limited term appointment at the Lecturer or Assistant Professor level commencing July 1 2025.
The Faculty offers preservice teacher education (Bachelor of Education BEd) inservice teacher education (Master of Education MEd; Certificate) and PhD programming and is seeking candidates who are committed to contributing to StFXs priorities of equity diversity inclusion and accessibility (EDIA). Candidates are asked to indicate concretely in their application how they will contribute to the EDIA efforts of our university.
The successful candidate will contribute to both oncampus and offcampus offerings; as such the position is based in Antigonish Nova Scotia and some travel throughout the province will be required. The successful candidate must hold a valid drivers license. Experience with both synchronous and asynchronous modes of online instruction are considered assets.
The successful candidate will have a Masters degree and experience teaching in P12 physical education classrooms. A completed or nearly completed PhD is considered an asset. Candidates should have familiarity and working knowledge of Nova Scotia Physical Education curricula.
