Head Teacher Needed for Local PreschoolChildcare Center

At our Hillsborough Preschool and Childcare Center our goal is to help develop each child holistically. We strive to create a community where children are challenged and become enthusiastic about lifelong learning. Our curriculum integrates the arts into our ageappropriate development standards through classes and theaterstyle productions. We provide specialized education in the Performing Arts and our teachers take pride in encouraging students to strive for excellence in academics and the arts.

We are actively searching for a motivated and enthusiastic Head Teacher to join our team in providing a safe fun and enriching environment for children.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

• Engage with current and prospective parents and family members
  
• Comply with governmental regulations regarding the care of children
  
• Understand responsibilities as a mandated reporter
  
• Keep the Director informed of any necessary information regarding the care and safety of children
  
• Complete timely and accurate documentation and other licensing or regulation requirements
  
• Use time wisely and take initiative when appropriate
  
• Assist and accept responsibilities in other daily center duties that might be temporary in the event other personnel are not available
  
• Attend and participate in staff meetings center events and parent/customer meetings as required
  
• Follow procedures and policies as stated in the handbook and employee manual
  
• Demonstrate knowledge of and model understanding of philosophy including our curriculum
  
• Maintain accreditation standards and licensing regulations at all times
  
• Greet children and parents daily at drop off and pick up
  
• Be a supportive and contributing member of the team
  
• Demonstrate initiative in decisionmaking; i.e. transitions classroom management crisis management
  
• Provide appropriate role modeling to fellow staff members
  
• Consistently demonstrate a positive and professional attitude
  
• Adhere to and act in line with company mission and values at all times
  
• May be called upon for offsite activities related to team building with coworkers
  
• Meet all deadlines
  

Successful Candidates Must Have One of the Following:

• Master s degree in education and six ECE credits AND one year of experience
  
• Master s degree in any field other than Education AND nine ECE credits and one year of experience
  
• Bachelor s degree in Education Psychology Healthcare Nursing or any other field related to Childhood Growth and Development; or teaching certification from Department of Education in Elementary Education Nursery School Preschool through third grade (P3) or Teacher of the Handicapped AND six ECE credits and two years of experience
  
• Bachelors degree in any other field than those listed above AND nine ECE credits or six ECE credits and four years of experience
  
• Teaching certification from Department of Education in a field other than those listed above AND nine ECE credits and three years of experience or six ECE credits and four years of experience
  
• Montessori education equivalent to a Bachelor s degree AND two years of experience
  
• Head Teacher endorsement from the New Jersey Registry for Childhood Professionals Professional Impact New Jersey
