Linux System Administrator - Direct Recruitment BYT

BYT is a spinoff of Boost IT that aims to use all the knowledge and experience created over 4 years with a management team that has more than 15 years of experience.

Created in December 2021 after 4 years of delivering the specialized recruitment service with great success under Boost IT name.

During these 4 years we carried out more than 400 specialized recruitment processes for 20 different clients both in Portugal and Internationally.

The success of the direct recruitment business area within Boost IT was so successful that we decided in 2021 to create BYT.

BYT: Boost Your Team

• Function: Linux SysAdmin
• Location: Lisbon
• Type of work: Hybrid Work Model (3x a week in the office in Lisbon)
• Type of contract: Direct Contractual link with the client
• Client: Leader company in providing information and knowledge about the business fabric helping to inform its clients business decisions.

Tasks

• Linuxbased computer systems and servers within an organization.
• Installing and configuring Linux operating systems on servers and workstations.
• Monitoring system performance ensuring proper operation and performing routine maintenance tasks such as updating software packages applying security patches and monitoring system logs for errors or anomalies.
• Implementing security measures to protect Linux systems from unauthorized access malware and other security threats. This may include configuring firewalls implementing intrusion detection systems and performing security audits.
• Troubleshooting system issues diagnosing hardware and software problems and providing technical support to endusers and other IT staff.
• Maintaining accurate documentation of system configurations procedures and troubleshooting steps to ensure system integrity and facilitate knowledge sharing within the organization.

Requirements

• Academic background preferably in IT/Computing or Engineering;
• Minimum of 3 years experience in Microsoft environments and Relational Database Administration preferably SQL Server (configuration administration and troubleshooting);
• Minimum 2 years experience in Linux environments (Debian CentOS Redhat and Oracle Linux);
• Network administration in HP environments;
• Virtualization: VMware;

Good to Have:

• Microsoft certifications are valued;
• Web servers: Apache and Nginx;
• Applications Servers: Tomcat;
• Scripting: Bash awk perl;
• Process orchestration: Ansible;
• Knowledge of security concepts CheckPoint firewall technologies.
