About the Role:

JMS Midlands is a part of the JMS Group of companies that employ 45 staff undertaking civil & structural engineering designs and has been serving the Construction Industry for over 25 years.

We have an opening for a Senior Structural Engineer in the Midlands region. Where as a critical part of our team you will Lead an Engineering cost centre(s).

With project costs up to 12m and the use of the latest design software the role offers an exciting opportunity to engage in impactful highvalue projects. A competitive salary up to 60k will be offered commensurate with the importance of this role within our company.

Responsibilities:

• Lead an Engineering cost centre(s) for our Midland Region.
• Use latest design software to create and manage structural designs.
• Liaise with key clients and discuss design/technical solutions with team members and stakeholders.
• Ensure projects are appropriately resourced delegating work to team members programming deliverables and monitoring progress.
• Provide support and guidance to junior staff fostering their development and progression.
• Prepare calculations drawings details specifications and reports for a wide range of structures and materials
• Implement Company policies and ensure adherence across your team.
• Monitor and oversee project budgets and staff resources for projects undertaken.
• Develop existing customer relationships and promote JMSs services.
• Assist in achieving targeted revenues from current and new customers.

Qualifications:

• Chartered Engineer status (CEng) would be advantageous
• Bachelors degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent (Masters degree preferred).
• Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in structural engineering.
• Proven track record of cost estimation and project management.
• Prior experience working with historic buildings is highly desirable.
