Our client in New York New York is growing investment firm. They are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Biotech Analyst/Investor to join their dynamic team. This is a direct hire onsite position.

The ideal candidate will have a strong educational background from a reputable institution and have buyside financial firm experience with a demonstrated track record of success in investing in the biotechnology sector.

Responsibilities:

• Biotech Investment Analysis: Conduct thorough research and analysis of biotech companies including assessing their pipelines clinical trial results intellectual property competitive positioning and market potential. Utilize a variety of quantitative and qualitative methodologies to evaluate investment opportunities.
• Financial Modeling: Develop detailed financial models to forecast the potential financial performance of biotech companies including revenue projections cash flow analysis valuation metrics and sensitivity analysis. Use these models to support investment recommendations and decisionmaking processes.
• Due Diligence: Perform comprehensive due diligence on potential biotech investments including reviewing regulatory filings clinical data scientific publications and industry trends. Identify and assess risks and opportunities associated with each investment opportunity.
• Investment Thesis Development: Formulate clear and compelling investment theses for biotech companies based on rigorous analysis and assessment of their growth prospects competitive advantages and potential market impact. Present investment recommendations to senior management and investment committees.
• Portfolio Management: Monitor and manage existing biotech investments within the firms portfolio including tracking performance metrics conducting periodic reviews and making strategic adjustments as needed to optimize returns and mitigate risks.
• Market Research: Stay abreast of developments and trends in the biotechnology industry including advancements in medical science regulatory changes competitive dynamics and market opportunities. Use market insights to inform investment decisions and strategic initiatives.
• Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the biotech industry including executives scientists physicians and other industry professionals.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree from a toptier university in a relevant field such as finance economics biology or chemistry. Advanced degree (e.g. MBA MD PhD) preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in buyside financial firms with a focus on investing in the biotechnology sector preferred.
• Proven track record of success in identifying and executing profitable biotech investments with demonstrated expertise in financial analysis modeling and valuation.
• Strong understanding of biotechnology fundamentals including drug development processes regulatory pathways and therapeutic areas of interest.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to critically evaluate scientific data financial statements and industry trends to inform investment decisions.
• Strategic mindset and strong business acumen with the ability to develop and articulate compelling investment theses and communicate complex concepts effectively.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders external partners and industry experts.
• High level of integrity professionalism and commitment to excellence in all aspects of work.

Compensation: $180000 $200000 base salary plus incentives and an excellent benefits package.
