Lab Technician

Our client has an opening for a Lab Technician. This position is accountable for Sample preparation food safety and nutritional testing for components of commercial food products.

In this role you will:

• Facilitate analytical testing or sample preparation for dept and team members
• Support all laboratory testing needs on a weekly basis.
• Be involved w/ laboratory testing of food products for one or more attributes
• Provide support and flexibility related to the analysis of samples or preparation for Labs
• Document results and review data generated by LIMS or instrumentation to maximize output and meet deadlines
• Meet department quality expectations
• Comply w/ lab dept and ISO 17025 quality requirements
• Identify and address quality control issues
• Complete quality investigations in a thorough and timely manner
• Perform routine instrument maintenance troubleshooting and other maintenance requirements
• Develop a strong knowledge of the analytical methods being trained on
• Maintain a work environment that complies w/ company safety rules
• Actively participate in customer and accreditation audits as needed
• Participate in continuous improvement of laboratory and team operations
• Other responsibilities as required by lab
  

Schedule: FT 40 hours Tues Sat 9:00am5:00pm

Salary: $23/ hr (long term contract)

Location: Minneapolis / St. Paul MN

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent Required!
• Associates degree Chemistry Food Science Biology or related science field Preferred!
• 03 years of relevant work experience
• Laboratory skills prepping of samples accurate weighing pipetting and quantitative transfer of solutions and samples
• Ability to work w/ care around hazardous compounds preparation of solutions and calculation of results
• Comfortable operating common lab equipment basic troubleshooting and maintenance
• Skills to be successful excellent written/ verbal / interpersonal communication skills ability to coordinate multiple tasks positive attitude excellent judgement and problemsolving skills efficient organized attention to detail
• Proficient w/ MS Outlook Word and Excel
• Collaborative Team Player
• Ability to be flexible and adaptable
• Ability to work a flex work schedule as needed
• Must be authorized to work in the US for any employer
• The position is subject to passing a background check and drug screen
