Ratepay is looking for a Senior Platform Engineer (m/f) to join our everevolving technology team during one of the most exciting phases of our technical roadmap!
As a Platform Engineer you will be instrumental in building and maintaining a robust scalable and efficient software platform and bring expertise in infrastructure design automation cloud computing scalability security and troubleshooting to ensure the smooth operation of our applications and services.

Ratepay has embarked on a major cloud migration which is one of our largest most complex and exciting technology projects to date. This is a large initiative migrating over 100 microservices and a large number of databases from our onpremises data center to AWS. Another major project is developing a machine learning platform for training fraud and risk prevention models. It is of course a very exciting time for us!

Tasks

• The role and your key contributions Automation : You are skilled at streamlining the software development cycle through automation and collaboration using tools like Ansible and integration into CI/CD pipelines. Cloud and Virtualization : You have expertise in AWS and virtualization and optimize our infrastructure for cost efficiency scalability security and high availability. You mainly manage the cloud but also some onpremise areas. Scalability : Our applications will grow and need to handle more traffic so make sure our infrastructure can handle the load. Setting up autoscaling performance monitoring and load balancing mechanisms to maintain a responsive and highperforming system is part of your daily work. Security : You play a critical role in ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. You configure firewalls set up secure access controls VPCs secrets management and so on. Troubleshooting : When problems arise with our application infrastructure you investigate diagnose and implement solutions to minimize downtime and disruption. You support the SW engineering teams in migrating and operating applications in the cloud.
• You document the platform architecture and processes
• You evaluate and integrate new technologies and tools to improve the platform

Essential Skills

• AWS our main infrastructure platform
• Terraform for providing our infrastructure as code
• Ansible (OR SIMILAR) Configuration management and automation
• Linux/OnPrem Exposure We still have Linux VMs that we need to maintain
• Networking to understand communication between different infrastructure areas
• GIT / CI/CD All changes should be deployed via CI/CD pipelines
  Bonus capabilities
• JIRA/Confluence/Bitbucket for daily work in our agile environment.
• VMWare the base infrastructure for our legacy platform.
