Your new role

As a Software Backend Engineer (all genders) at Parkdepot you take an active role in shaping our engineering culture and the future of our company. You will take the lead on which technologies should be used in our backend and play out your skill in a highly motivated team. You will be responsible for new features for high service uptimes and the scalable architecture to enable the future of parking.

What to expect

• API Development and Integration: You develop APIs that allow different software applications to communicate with each other. This includes creating endpoints for CRUD (Create Read Update Delete) operations authentication and facilitating the interaction between the frontend backend and other thirdparty services.
• Security Measures : Implementing and ensuring data security is a critical part of your role. This includes securing the application from threats like SQL injection and CrossSite Scripting (XSS). You also manage user authentication ensuring that data access is securely controlled.
• Performance Optimization: Youwork on optimizing the performance of serverside applications. This involves optimizing database queries caching strategies and overall application efficiency to ensure fast response times and scalability to handle high volumes of traffic.
• Scalability and Reliability : You design and implement systems in a way that you can scale effectively with increasing loads. This includes setting up load balancers database sharding and ensuring that the system is faulttolerant and can handle failures gracefully.
• DevOps and CI/CD: You often work closely with DevOps practices including continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) to automate the testing and deployment of backend applications enhancing development efficiency and deployment reliability.
• Collaboration and ProblemSolving: You collaborate with frontend developers UI/UX designers project managers and other stakeholders to understand requirements solve complex problems and implement effective solutions. You will translate business requirements into technical solutions that are efficient scalable and maintainable.

• What we use: We use Serverless Python functions for our Microservices and GPU enhanced microcontrollers to run our deep learning models on the edge and store the data in the AWS cloud

Inspire us by

• Your background: You have a strong and proven background in computer science software development or related subjects
• Your experience: You have experience working with Python or related programming languages and are generally an enthusiastic programmer
• Your heart beats for databases and clouds: You are proficient working with AWS services like Lambda EC2 S3 and IAM as well as SQL (PostgreSQL)
• Your knowledge: You have a deep understanding of the main networking concepts (TCP UDP DNS routing firewalling NAT)
• Your mindset: You enjoy working successfully in an agile environment with continuous deployment and delivery
• Proactive problem solver: You are enthusiastic about leaving codes and technical processes in a better shape than you found them.
• Language skills: Strong written and spoken English (level C1 on the CEFR scale)
