Job Description

Accountabilities: • Oversee the review, evaluation, and approval of furniture samples, ensuring all furniture adheres to British or European standards, with a focus on safety and design suitability. • Lead the furniture procurement process, including vendor selection, contract drafting, and bid evaluation, interpreting the feasibility of a project with respect to budget and schedule. • Guide the design direction of a project in line with the purpose and function of the project. • Utilize design software like AutoCAD, SketchUp or VRay to create precise furniture layouts, ensuring compatibility with space and design requirements. • Coordinates schedules for fabrication, delivery and installation of the FF&E with concerned teams. • Attend site meetings whenever required, oversee the installation of project ‘fit-outs’ alongside contractors with suggestions. • Conduct ongoing quality assessments against specified standards, maintaining high-quality standards throughout the furniture's lifecycle. • Manage diverse furniture models, adapting color palettes and materials as needed to meet design specifications. • Prepare accurate Bill of Quantities for each property and manage the procurement budget effectively. • Prepares FF&E cost estimates or quotations; with manufacturers and prospective vendors, and negotiates delivery of respective items on schedule and within budget. • Meet with suppliers to build library and stay informed about market trends, new materials, design innovations in the furniture and interior design sectors. • Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department. Qualifications About you Qualifications and Experience: • Bachelor’s degree or Equivalent with minimum 5 years of job-related experience. • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Industrial Design, Architecture, or related field • At least 5 years in furniture procurement or related field, with proven experience in project management and vendor relations • Skilled in AutoCAD or similar design software, with a solid understanding of furniture construction and materials Job Specific Skills: • Command of English language. • Capable of interpreting technical specifications and compliance standards. • Strong communication skills for effective negotiation and team coordination. • Excellent organizational and project management skills, adept at handling multiple concurrent projects. • Excellent ability to analyze and interpret the needs of staff customers and offer appropriate solutions within the ambit of laid down guidelines. • Strong interpersonal and communication skill and the ability to work effectively with a range of communities / nationalities.
