1. Contract Review:
Review and draft contracts leases and other legal documents related to property
management ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Advise on legal implications and risks associated with contractual agreements.
2. Compliance:
Stay abreast of local state and federal laws and regulations affecting property management.
Ensure the companys policies and practices comply with legal requirements.
Provide training to staff on legal and compliance matters.
3. Litigation Management:
Represent the company in legal proceedings including disputes evictions and other litigation
matters.
Collaborate with external legal counsel when necessary.
4. Risk Management:
Identify potential legal risks and provide proactive solutions to mitigate such risks.
Work with other departments to develop and implement risk management strategies.
5. Dispute Resolution:
Mediate and negotiate disputes between the company and tenants contractors or other
stakeholders.
Advise on alternative dispute resolution methods.
6. Due Diligence:
Conduct legal due diligence on property acquisitions ensuring compliance with zoning laws
environmental regulations and other legal requirements.
7. Policy Development:
Contribute to the development and updating of company policies to align with legal
requirements.
Develop and implement compliance programs.
8. Collaboration:
Collaborate with other departments such as operations finance and risk management to
address legal issues affecting the business.
Qualifications:
LLB/LLM degree from an accredited law school.
Proven experience as a legal consultant or attorney preferably with a focus on real estate or
property law.
Strong knowledge of property management laws and regulations.
Excellent research analytical and problemsolving skills.
Effective communication and negotiation abilities.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
