Our client Appelt Development Consultants Inc. is seeking an experienced full cycle Bookkeeper to join their Kelownabased team on a fulltime basis. With over 1 million square feet of commercial real estate in over 10 cities Appelt has an exceptional team that utilizes best practices to ensure their companies assets receive the highest caliber of care. As the successful candidate you will seamlessly manage the books for multiple different companies and be able to connect the dots between what s going on in the business and what s happening in finance to help improve operations. Reporting to the Accounting Manager and Controller you will be responsible for:

  • A/P and A/R including data entry:
    o Managing and communicating with vendors and making payments
    o Invoicing and accounts receivable collection
    o Tenant statements of accounts and communication
    o Intercompany billings and invoicing
  • Construction bookkeeping (compliance WCB insurance purchase orders contracts hold backs job costing);
  • Property Management bookkeeping (commercial & residential leasing);
  • Assisting with the preparation of management month end reports;
  • Ensuring established finance workflows are being followed consistently;
  • Supporting other day to day accounting and administration requirements.


Requirements

  • A bookkeeping certificate and/or a minimum of 5 years of recent related experience;
  • Prior experience working in the construction or property management industries is an asset;
  • Strong computer literacy including excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Previous experience with SAGE 300CRE (previously Timberline) is an asset;
  • Excellent communication skills and problemsolving abilities;
  • The ability to handle data with confidentiality and integrity;
  • Strong organizational and time management skills;
  • Excellent attention to detail accuracy and analytical thinking;
  • The ability to thrive in a teambased environment although you are selfmotivated and able to function autonomously.
