Continuous Improvement & Quality Manager

This is a highly visible opportunity for an energetic, self-motivated Continuous Improvement and Quality minded Manufacturing individual with Cabinetry or Carpentry background(Must know how a Cabinet is made). We are a growing national Cabinet Manufacturing operations with facilities in 5 states. This position is located in South Plainfield, NJ at our corporate offices. The Continuous Improvement & Quality Manager is responsible for implementing and executing inspection, testing, and evaluation methods to ensure that products adhere closely to company standards. They prepare reports by collecting data on inspections or other aspects such as production line cleanliness which are analyzed in detail to ensure good quality products to the customer.
This position requires the ability to manage the entire site to ensure safety requirements, daily goals, cost effectiveness, and quality are attained in the production process. Guides development of the accuracy and availability of procedures to support product modifications and assembly. Ensures the availability of material to meet the plan consistent with customer needs, inventory restraints, and profit requirements by managing the materials function. Must be a Lean advocate and drive continuous improvement on the shift. Also responsible for pay reviews and performance evaluations as well as providing daily reports to senior management.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Implementing methods to inspect, test and evaluate products and production equipment
  • Ensuring that products adhere to quality standards
  • Preparing reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data
  • Training and managing production line staff in production practices and quality assessment of goods
  • Tracking products through the manufacturing process to guarantee that each part of the process is correct
  • Performing detailed and recorded inspections of final products so the products are up to industry and company standards
  • Eliminating products that are not up to standards and finding the root cause for product problems
  • Coaches and develops employees to achieve performance standards with regards to safety and quality
  • Tracks key performance indicators to achieve quality targets
  • Oversees vendors / quality team overseas to ensure good quality products are shipped to CNC
  • Lead and Promote Continuous Improvement initiatives.

Additional Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • At least 3 years’ experience in C&I and or Quality
  • Cabinetry, Construction, or Building Manufacturing Industry experience
  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience
  • Ability to manage and motivate people.
  • Lean Six Sigma experience
  • Change management experience
