Description:
Position Title: Mechanical Engineer (Contract)
The Mechanical Engineer (Contract) will contribute to new product development by design and development of electromechanical test set ups, performing tests, preparing reports, and presenting to the team.
You will be an important contributor to realizing the next generation of interventional robotic platform.
This position will work with new and existing medical device products, wiring test instrumentation, perform data acquisition, and debug electro-mechanical systems.
This is a collaborative opportunity where you will work cross-functionally with Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Manufacturing, and external vendors.
This role is suited for hands-on, problem solver engineering techs who are interested to work in a fast-paced environment and learn from a strong engineering team while adding value to the assigned projects.
Responsibilities:
Design electromechanical test fixtures to assist test operations and assembly
Formulate test methods for characterization, verification, and validation purposes
Test new or existing products in the development cycle to characterize performance
Analyze test data using statistical methods
Wire and install motors, drives, racks, and motion control equipment
Required Skills/Experience:
1+ years electromechanical R&D engineering experience required; preferably in medical device or other regulated industries
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Robotics Engineering is required
Must have hands-on experience in assembly and testing of electro-mechanical systems
Demonstrated CAD proficiency required. SolidWorks preferred
Experience in medical device Verification and Validation cycle highly desired
Experience with complex electro-mechanical systems (integration, test) required
Experience with high precision measurement equipment desired
Experience using, modifying, and programing LabView routines highly desired
Experience with statistical tools and software such as Minitab is desired
Ability to multitask and work under aggressive deadlines are critical to success
Execute assigned projects and duties with minimal supervision
Proficiency in using MS Office highly desired
