Founded in Berlin, Germany, ubitricity operates in a number of European countries, and is the largest public EV charging network in the UK with over 4,500 charge points, discreetly integrated into lampposts. In the UK, we have an ambition to install 50,000 on-street chargers by the end of 2025.

The Role
The ubitricity group head office is in Berlin, but the UK has always been a strong market for them and following on from a number of successful partnerships, they are now looking to scale their UK team by recruiting a Field Support Engineer.

Based in the London office and reporting to the Head of Operations, the objective of this role is to lead the Technical Support of the hardware infrastructure within the UK. Technologically aware and highly organised, the successful candidate will be responsible for the detail behind the functionality of installed charge points, reporting on technical faults and assisting the ubitricity Quality Manager in identifying root cause while also developing and implementing corrective and preventive measures. In addition, this role will support maintenance programmes and Field Engineer training programs.

Resposibilities

  • Overall responsibility for Technical Support for customers of ubitricity hardware
  • Assist Customer Services to reduce reactive maintenance lead-times, thus increasing charge point availability
  • Managing maintenance program data to monitor in-field installation status
  • Review and report on fault root causes, and develop corrective and preventive measures to reduce socket faults and increasing charge point availability
  • Lead reporting role into the Quality Department of ubitricity GmbH
  • Develop the existing Installation, Maintenance and Repair training program to provide a professional Field Service Engineer assessment and approvals process.
  • Assist in the development of the approved contractors and suppliers procurement processes
  • Auditing of Technical Service Providers against contracted SLAs, Health and Safety and quality.
  • Ensure quality standards are always adhered to
  • Prioritisation/coordination of your own and the department s workload
  • Develop and report on Technical Support KPIs
  • Prepared to support in-field maintenance and fault-finding activity as required (UK travel may be necessary).

  • Hold a strong electrical background in Technical Support, LV electrical infrastructure or electro-mechanical maintenance
  • Communicate clearly with an attention to detail
  • Efficiently plan, document, and organise

  • Confident and work professionally
  • Be proactive in all areas

Professional Qualifications

  • Educated to HNC or equivalent
  • Qualified to BS7671:2018
