Location: Sydney NSW Australia
Experience: 8 Years
We are seeking an experienced SQL DBA with strong expertise in SQL Server migrations database administration and performance optimization. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience migrating SQL Server environments and ensuring seamless cutover with minimal downtime.
Key Skills & Experience:
- 8 years of IT experience with 5 years in SQL Server (/2026)
- Strong expertise in SQL Server migrations and upgrades
- Hands-on experience with SSMA SQL Server Profiler and SSMS
- Database performance tuning and optimization
- SQL Clustering Always On Availability Groups HA/DR solutions
- Troubleshooting connectivity permissions and performance issues
- Experience with SQL Server Services (SSRS SSAS SSIS)
- Strong knowledge of Logins Jobs Linked Servers DB Mail and Database Objects
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess source environments and plan migration activities
- Analyze database integrations upstream/downstream data flows and dependencies
- Review encryption and certificates to support seamless migrations
- Execute migration cutovers with minimal business disruption
- Perform post-migration validation integrity checks and performance benchmarking
- Optimize queries indexes and server configurations
- Implement and support high-availability and disaster recovery solutions
Preferred:
- Microsoft Certified: SQL Server Database Administrator
- Experience with enterprise-scale migration projects
