Software Engineer II - Backend

Were looking for Software Engineer II Backend to join Procores Project Management Tools Experience team. In this role youll join our highly collaborative Product and Engineering organization to drive the technical direction of our projects.

As a Software Engineer II Backend at Procore youre given the unique opportunity to partner intimately with our customer base translating their fundamental needs into technological SaaS solutions. Backed by the might of our teams well provide you with the tools and resources needed to achieve extraordinary results that render a significant impact extending beyond the boundaries of traditional engineering roles.

This position will report to an Engineering Manager and will be based in our Cairo Egypt location. Were looking for someone to join our team immediately.

What youll do:

• Evolve our existing codebase from a monolithic Rails application into a modular system with clear wellenforced domain boundaries and a coherent public interface
• Write a highly performant code that minimizes payload size and deferred scripts while consuming the lowest possible amount of resources
• Participate in designing and building a system that is aligned with Procores technical vision of a serviceoriented architecture
• Collaborate with Engineering Product and UX to design and build solutions that delight users and solve critical business problems
• Experience with development in Docker AWS and microservice environments

What were looking for:

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science a related field or comparable work experience
• 2 years experience in software engineering fundamentals Test Driven Development and Design principles (Ruby on Rails Python Javascript Java Node.js or similar languages preferred)
• Experience designing and building software in a ServiceOriented Architecture
• Professional experience with React/Javascript or Typescript and Ruby/Ruby on Rails is a plus
• Timehoned expertise with modern web development across the entire spectrum of development testing staging deploying and monitoring
• A curious mind that is driven to innovate and solve customer problems
