Job Summary
Job Responsibilities:
Constructs alters and repairs a wide variety of tools dies jigs fixtures and gauges to very close tolerance
Sets up and operate machine tools such as lathes milling machine shaper and grinder to machine parts
Studies specifications engineering blueprints tool orders
Draws preliminary sketches prepares layout and detail drawings
Develop strategies for fabricating designed dies using most suitable to machining resources
Meets all quality and efficiency expectations
Complies with safety regulations and maintains clean and orderly work areas Skills/Knowledge/Experience:
Education minimum 4 years of high school/vocational school completion of apprentice program a plus.
Work experience minimum of 3 years

Interpret engineering specifications including operative sheets drawings and sketches
Mathematical aptitude: demonstrated ability for using shop mathematics including geometric and trigonometric formulas
Work with close dimensional tolerances and use all types of precision measuring instruments
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
Able to work independently
Knowledge of machine shop practices and operations
