Title I Part A-211Theintent of Title I PartA isto provide supplemental resources to LEAs to help schools with high concentrations of students from low-income families provide high-quality education that will enable all children to meet the challenging state academic standards.

Title II Part A-Supporting Effective Instruction- 255The intent of Title II Part A is to provide resources to LEAS to increase student achievement improve the quality and effectiveness of teachers principals and other school leader and to increase the number of teachers principals land other school leaders who are effective in improving student academic achievement in schools.

Title III Part A- 263The intent of Title III Part A is to provide supplemental resources to LEAs to help ensure that children who are English learners including immigrant children and youth attain English proficiency at high levels in academic subjects and can meet the same challenging State academic standards that all children are expected to meet.

Title IV Part A-287 Theintent of Title IV Part A is to improve the academic achievement of all students by increasing the capacity of LEAs schools and communities to provide all students with access to a well-rounded education improve school conditions for student learning and improve the use of technology in order to enhance academic outcomes and digital literacy of students.

Perkins V244Theintent of Perkins V 244 is toexpand opportunities for every student to explore choose and follow career and technical education programs of study and career pathways to earn credentials of value.

SUMMARY:

Provides leadership and coordination of the Special Education Program to ensure provision of needed services for specialneedsstudents. Supports training and oversight of Individualized Education Program (IEP)requiredcomponents monitors completion of service documentation and ensures compliance with all state federal and local requirements.

MAJORRESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Program Management

  • Assistin analyzing the critical needs in assigned areas and conducting team efforts to design implementmeasureand refine assigned programs.
  • Implement vertical and horizontal systems integration initiatives to support high student achievement and customer satisfaction.
  • Recommend hire orient train and evaluate department employees directly or indirectly through supervisory staff; implement andmonitoreffective human resource practices.
  • Collaborate with content area coordinators to ensure that curriculum renewal is continuous and responsive to specialneedsstudents.
  • Encourage and support the development of innovative instructional programs and programs beneficial to the overall well-being of the students; help teachers to pilot such efforts whenappropriate.
  • Arrange for or conduct assessments; make recommendationsregardingplacement and program management for individual students.
  • Demonstrate support for the districts student management policies and expected student behavior related toSpecialeducation programs.
  • Implement the policiesestablishedby federal and state law State Board of Education rule and Local Board Policy inareaof Special Education to ensure compliance.
  • Coordinate and support special education programs and services to meet students needs; plan the necessary time resources and materials to support teachers inaccomplishingeducational goals.
  • Ensure that student progress is evaluated on a systematic basis; obtain and use evaluative findings including student achievement data to gauge Special Education program effectiveness.
  • Participate in development preparation and administration of the budget for supplies equipment and facilities inareaof assignment.

Staff Development

  • Plan and provide staff development for teachers administrators and staff in designated subject areas.
  • Disseminate information regarding current research and significant developments on the state and national levels inareaassigned.
  • Observe classroom instruction and provide feedback andassistanceto classroom teachers tofacilitateimprovement and innovation. Demonstrate teaching strategies with students inclassroom.

Policy Reports and Law

  • Assistthe legal department with student discrimination complaints and investigations.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Develop andmaintainsystems for retrieval of information in support of all programs; compilemaintain file and secure all physical and computerized reports records and other required documents.
  • Pursue Professional Development activities for self and assigned staff; ensure that Professional Development activities are aligned with District goals and initiatives and current professional research.
  • Comply withall policies operating procedures legal requirements and verbal and written directives.
  • Comply withthe Professional Code of Ethics and Standard Practices forTexasEducators.
  • Follow District safety protocols and emergency procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certification:

  • Bachelors degree
  • Valid TexasSpecialEducationTeacher Certification
  • Masters degree
  • Valid TexasAdministratorCertificate(preferred)

Experience:

  • Three (3)yearssuccessfulteaching experience
  • Successful administrative experience (preferred)
