Quality Manager
Job Summary
Position Summary
The Quality Manager is responsible for leading and maintaining the companys Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure products meet customer requirements industry standards and regulatory compliance. This position oversees quality assurance quality control continuous improvement initiatives corrective actions audits and customer quality concerns while promoting a culture of quality throughout the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Ensure compliance with customer industry and regulatory requirements.
- Lead internal and external quality audits.
- Develop implement and monitor quality policies procedures and work instructions.
- Analyze quality data and identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Lead root cause investigations and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) activities.
- Manage customer complaints nonconformance reports and quality-related issues.
- Collaborate with production engineering purchasing and operations teams to improve product quality and process efficiency.
- Establish and monitor quality metrics KPIs and performance goals.
- Train and mentor quality personnel and support employee quality awareness initiatives.
- Support supplier quality programs and supplier performance evaluations.
- Participate in new product introductions and process validations.
- Prepare quality reports and present findings to management.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Quality Engineering Manufacturing Business or related field preferred.
- 5 years of quality management experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of quality systems auditing practices and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality-related software systems.
- Excellent communication leadership and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ISO 9001 or other quality management standards.
- Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma experience.
- Certified Quality Manager (CQM) Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or similar certification preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments.
- Occasional walking throughout the production floor.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
