Sentara CarePlex Hospital in Hampton Virginia is seeking a Patient Services Coordinator to join our Radiology Department in a Part-Time Day Shift role. This position includes rotating weekend coverage and offers the opportunity to support patient care through exceptional coordination and customer service in a dynamic healthcare environment.

• Part Time Day Shift 20 hours/week

• Rotating weekend coverage

Overview

A Patient Services Coordinator is responsible for developing care plans coordinating patient care services and ensuring patients receive the necessary medical treatment. They consult with healthcare providers evaluate patient progress and assist with securing funding for medical care.

Coordinates activities for specific practices including insurance verification/obtaining pre-certification scheduling pre-registration and order transmission. Purpose is to ensure maximum reimbursement and reduce denials related to incomplete insurance information and/or authorization. Maintains statistics and acts as liaison between clinical testing sites and offices.

Education

• High School Grad or Equivalent(Required)

Experience

• Previous healthcare experience (Required)

• Two of the following skill levels are strongly preferred: 1. Two years experience in a healthcare environment; 2. Completion of a healthcare related certificate program; 3. Associates Degree or higher; 4. Transferable skills such as 1 year or more in a call center customer service position etc (Preferred)
