Job Summary
A growing fire protection company is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Technician to join its team in Ashland VA. This opportunity is ideal for a technician with experience inspecting troubleshooting servicing and repairing commercial fire alarm systems who is looking for a stable company with strong earning potential and long-term growth opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Test inspect troubleshoot and service fire alarm systems in commercial facilities
- Respond to service calls and diagnose fire alarm system malfunctions
- Repair replace and adjust fire alarm equipment as needed
- Perform inspections in accordance with NFPA standards and local codes
- Prepare accurate inspection reports and service documentation
- Communicate findings and recommendations with customers
- Maintain service records tickets and required paperwork
- Participate in the on-call rotation as scheduled
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on fire alarm experience
- Valid drivers license
- Working knowledge of fire alarm inspection testing and service procedures
- Experience with one or more of the following systems:
- Simplex
- Notifier
- Fire-Lite
Preferred Qualifications
- NICET certification
- Advanced fire alarm diagnostics and repair experience
- Experience with special hazard suppression systems including FM-200 and Halon
