Day Shift: MondayFriday 6:00 AM 2:30 PM

Availability for occasional weekends and off-shift support
Participation in training incident investigations audits and special projects as needed
Position Summary
The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist supports the implementation and continuous improvement of environmental health and safety programs within a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for promoting a safe workplace supporting regulatory compliance conducting safety assessments and partnering with operations to foster a strong safety culture.
This position is ideal for an entry-level safety professional or recent graduate seeking hands-on experience in environmental health and safety within an industrial manufacturing setting.
Key Responsibilities
Safety Program Support
Support daily EHS operations and ensure compliance with company client and regulatory requirements.
Promote a proactive safety culture through employee engagement and field presence.
Assist in the development implementation and continuous improvement of EHS programs and procedures.
Serve as a resource for employees regarding safety policies procedures and safe work practices.
Inspections Audits & Hazard Identification
Conduct routine safety inspections audits and behavioral observations throughout the facility.
Identify workplace hazards and collaborate with operations to implement corrective and preventive actions.
Monitor compliance with safety standards procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
Track and follow up on safety observations and corrective actions to completion.
Incident Investigation & Compliance
Participate in incident injury and near-miss investigations.
Assist with root cause analysis and development of corrective action plans.
Maintain accurate records related to incidents inspections training and compliance activities.
Support OSHA recordkeeping and other regulatory documentation requirements.
Training & Employee Engagement
Assist with onboarding and safety orientation programs for new employees.
Support delivery of safety training toolbox talks and awareness campaigns.
Reinforce safe work practices and encourage employee participation in safety initiatives.
Participate in safety committee meetings and continuous improvement activities.
Environmental & Regulatory Support
Assist with environmental compliance programs and reporting requirements.
Support waste management spill prevention and environmental monitoring activities.
Help ensure compliance with applicable federal state local and customer environmental standards.
Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma or GED required.
Associates or Bachelors degree in Environmental Health & Safety Occupational Safety Industrial Hygiene Environmental Science or a related field preferred.
Experience
02 years of experience in safety manufacturing facilities management or a related field.
Internship co-op or coursework related to EHS is highly desirable.
Experience in an automotive or industrial manufacturing environment is a plus.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities
Basic understanding of OSHA regulations and workplace safety principles preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to identify hazards and assist in developing practical solutions.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook).
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Demonstrated willingness to learn and develop professionally within the EHS field.
Preferred Qualifications
OSHA 10-Hour or OSHA 30-Hour certification.
Coursework or certifications in Environmental Health & Safety.
Experience conducting inspections audits or safety observations.
Familiarity with incident investigations and root cause analysis methodologies.
Physical Requirements
Ability to walk production floors and perform facility inspections for extended periods.
Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures noise levels and production activities.
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
