The data & accountability coordinator under minimal supervision performs senior-level work with extensive decision-making discretion overseeing specialized professional assistance and support to schools in the assessment of student performance (grades K-12) and the collection. and management of student data in the implementation of the North Carolina Annual Testing Program and the fulfillment of the state and federally mandated accountability program. Employee performs highly complex work to carry out Board of Education policies and procedures related to student performance and student data management under the direction of the Director of Data & Accountability.

Essential Functions
Adhere to all state federal and local laws policies and procedures
Provide accurate information on testing and accountability requirements procedures protocols and outcomes to individual schools
Provide support to schools on data interpretation and verification to ensure accurate data files for accountability analysis
Resolve school questions and requests for assistance with knowledge of the program Ensure schools meet deadlines for all deliverables including but not limited to data submissions and end-of-year checklist
Monitor assessment administrations as required by NCDPI
Monitor daily attendance records grade reports and state testing data to identify students at risk of dropping out
Ensure all eligible students participate in state and local assessments and assist in
interpreting assessment results to guide academic interventions
Maintain accurate confidential data records and case management files to track student progress and intervention outcomes
Utilize data to identify patterns in chronic absenteeism or behavioral issues
Collaborate with guidance counselors and registrars to review transcripts for credit recovery needs
Work with the master scheduler and counselors to ensure at-risk students are placed in appropriate classes including alternative education settings and CTE
Assist in the development of individual tailored academic plans (e.g. personalized
schedules) to maximize opportunities for graduation in collaboration with counselors Participate in scheduling school-based meetings as needed to ensure student needs are met during the master scheduling process
Develop and revise course selection guides for the district.
Progress Monitor the effectiveness of interventions that include attendance academic support and discipline data in collaboration with counselors.
Work with staff to identify potential dropouts and identify possible intervention strategies Provide training and coordination to the transcript audit team
Complete local state or federal surveys and reports accurately and promptly Create an inclusive environment with positive communication/public relations Participate/facilitate professional development workshops and leadership training Perform related work as assigned or required
