PATH is seeking candidates passionate about helping others make a positive change in their lives to join our Executive Leadership Team as the Chief Development Officer working out of our main office in Los Angeles California.
ABOUT PATH
Since its foundation in 1984 PATH (People Assisting The Homeless) has pioneered bold and effective approaches to assist people experiencing homelessness. PATH operates services throughout California connecting our clients to a comprehensive continuum of homelessness prevention street outreach employment preparation and placement assistance individualized case management supportive services interim housing and permanent supportive housing.
ABOUT THE CHIEF DEVELOPMENT OFFICER
As part of the Executive Leadership Team the CDO is responsible for achieving PATHsprogressive fundraising goals managing a robust team (15 members with five direct reports) and being an engaging mission-driven thought leader with the executive team.
Position Responsibilities:
- Lead the creation of a comprehensive statewide fundraising strategyfrom initial engagement to donor acknowledgment and stewardshipthat achieves PATHs current goals and increases private revenue incrementally and aggressively each year.
- Develop a high-performance team culture focused on leadership and accountability at all levels continuous learning collaboration measurement and goal achievement with progress tracked quarterly and annually.
- Oversee directors of philanthropy grants media and marketing to help develop annual plans and budgets and support implementation.
- Support internal and external communications with the team leading to broader brand awareness externally and more streamlined messaging internally.
- Personally secure six- to seven-figure gifts from major donors across California while overseeing the success of a team fully dedicated to individual giving direct mail online giving corporate sponsorships and event production.
- Leverage previous experience in planned giving to expand our current program with full support and participation from staff and board leadership.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
To be considered for this position we require all candidates:
- Eight (8) years of professional experience in managing projects and teams related to development and communications
- Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent experience
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
