    Job Summary
    The College Career and Life Graduation Coach provides leadership coordination and student-centered support to ensure the successful implementation sustainability and continuous improvement of high school CCL board goals and guardrails for the Anchorage School District. Under the direction of the Teaching and Learning secondary director the CCL graduation coach aligns school initiatives district supports workforce data and community partnerships to ensure all students graduate prepared for college career and life.

    The CCL graduation coach serves as a member of the school leadership team and acts as a strategic liaison among school staff students families business and industry partners postsecondary institutions and community organizations. The position supports career technical education pathway development work-based learning student graduation monitoring data analysis and program evaluation to increase student engagement achievement and graduation outcomes.

    This position requires a valid Alaska educator certificate. The number of workdays is based upon the AEA negotiated pay scale. Information on the pay scale can be found online on our Labor Relations Department website. Positions that are 0.50 FTE to 1.0 FTE are associated with the Alaska Teachers Retirement System (TRS) positions that are 0.40 to 0.49 FTE are associated with the Alaska Employees Retirement System (PERS). Positions that are 0.39 FTE or less are not eligible for state retirement benefits.

    Job Requirements
    The following are required:

    1. A bachelors degree in education social work counseling career technical education or a related field.
    2. A valid Alaska initial professional or masterteaching certificate or type c special services certificate.
    3. Experience working with secondary students including at-risk youth.
    4. Experience working with diverse populations.
    5. Demonstrated ability to analyze and apply student data to inform interventions.
    6. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    7. Ability to build partnerships with community and industry stakeholders.
    8. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.


    The following are preferred:

    1. A masters degree in education social work counseling or a related field.
    2. Experience in career academies CTE programs or small learning community models.
    3. School counseling or teaching experience.
    4. Knowledge of workforce development systems and postsecondary pathways.
    5. Experience coordinating work-based learning programs.
    6. Knowledge of community resources and referral systems.
    7. Experience with assessment evaluation intervention planning and record maintenance.
    8. Familiarity with student information systems and accreditation processes.


    Essential Job Functions
    CTE Pathway Implementation and Strategic Leadership

    1. Serves as a member of the school leadership team and CTE Pathways.
    2. Leads and supports implementation of district CCL board goals and guardrails as related to CTE Pathways.
    3. Develops monitors and reports on CCL goals on track data and pathway implementation timelines.
    4. Collaborates with district leadership to align CTE coursework with accreditation standards workforce projections and employer/industry needs.
    5. Supports master scheduling to ensure equitable student access to CTE Pathways.
    6. Participates in as necessary district CTE meetings industry councils and strategic planning sessions.


    Student Recruitment Placement and Graduation Support

    1. Coordinates recruitment application and placement of students into CTE Pathways.
    2. Monitors student on track status using attendance behavior academic performance and credit attainment data.
    3. Collaborates with counselors and administrators to develop intervention plans for students at risk of not graduating.
    4. Provides individualized graduation coaching and facilitates small group supports as needed.
    5. Confers with families regarding academic progress attendance social-emotional needs and postsecondary planning.
    6. Supports middle-to-high school transition efforts including liaison responsibilities with feeder schools.
    7. Facilitates parent/student information nights open houses school tours and pathway promotional events.
    8. Supports Commitment to Graduate ceremonies and other milestone events.
    9. Serves as the school-based liaison forSchoolinks supporting teacher and student onboarding and professional development.


    Curriculum and Instructional Alignment

    1. Collaborates with curriculum leaders to develop and refine CTE Pathways and aligned four-year course sequences.
    2. Supports development and implementation of College Career Exploration and Personal Finance (CCE & PF) coursework.
    3. Promotes project-based learning and interdisciplinary instruction within CTE Pathways.
    4. Assists with dual credit dual enrollment and industry certification applications and implementation.
    5. Supports professional learning for CTE teachers including externships experiential learning and industry alignment.


    Work-Based Learning and Industry Partnerships

    1. Develops and sustains partnerships with business industry postsecondary institutions and community organizations.
    2. Coordinates industry advisory boards to ensure programs remain aligned with workforce needs.
    3. Organizes monitors and documents experiential learning opportunities including:
      job shadowing student internships teacher externships guest speakers field trips career expos and college and university visits.
    4. Convenes industry roundtables to validate pathway recommendations and support facilities planning.
    5. Maintains accurate documentation of community investment and partner engagement.


    Social Services and Community Coordination

    1. Identifies 9th-grade students who may be requiring additional social service support and make appropriate referrals to site-based counselor assets.
    2. Conducts family outreach through meetings and phone calls.
    3. Promotes culturally responsive practices and supports social-emotional learning within the school environment.
    4. Coordinates translation services for non-English speaking families as needed.


    Data Analysis and Program Evaluation

    1. Collects analyzes and synthesizes student interest survey data and workforce economic data to inform pathway decisions.
    2. Monitors enrollment attendance discipline academic performance certifications dual credit participation and graduation rates.
    3. Tracks and reports On Track indicators aligned to CCL board goals and guardrails.
    4. Maintains confidential documentation needs assessments and intervention records.
    5. Prepares annual reports and stakeholder updates.
    6. Supports budget planning and resource alignment to sustain pathway initiatives.


    Communication and Stakeholder Engagement

    1. Develops and disseminates CTE/Pathway informational materials (e.g. programs of study pathway guides).
    2. Collaborates with communications teams to ensure clear messaging to students families and partners.
    3. Coordinates and oversees student ambassador programs.
    4. Presents pathway updates and recommendations to leadership teams advisory boards and district stakeholders.
    5. Serves as the primary point of contact for CTE Pathway-related inquiries.


    Professional Responsibilities

    1. Participates in ongoing professional development aligned to CCL and CTE implementation.
    2. Attends district meetings planning retreats and year-end review sessions.
    3. Supports implementation of district policies and procedures.
    4. Performs other duties as assigned.


    Physical /Mental Demands

    The physical demands of this job require frequent standing walking sitting speaking and hearing. Specific visual abilities are also required. The employee is regularly required to reach with his/her hands and arms and occasionally lift items weighing less than 40 lbs. Additionally the employee must be able to understand vague and implicit instructions be able to readily recall facts and details handle conflict and make effective decisions under pressure. The employee must have the ability to effectively manage the stress of working with students parents and other employees representing diverse cultures personalities and work styles in a dynamic work environment.
