- Experience underwriting professional with strong property and casualty underwriting skills.
- Manage growth profit and loss for assigned region.
- Manage agency/producer relationships for assigned region.
- Handle new and renewal submissions and endorsement requests from agents/ producers.
- Document underwriting files to support analysis coverage terms and pricing.
- Operate in accordance with underwriting authority as delegated by manager.
- In conjunction with management lead business initiatives for territory including execution of pricing premium retention coverage analysis loss control needs claim service needs and account stewardship.
- Provides clear instruction and guidance to underwriting support staff and operations staff.
- Apply your sales and marketing skills and strategies to meet financial goals.
- Follow established pricing underwriting and documentation protocol as set forth by underwriting management.
- Mentor & coach underwriters and underwriting support staff
May perform other functions as assigned
Qualifications
Education
Four-year college degree or equivalent experience
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in commercial underwriting
- Knowledge of commercial lines underwriting standards and practices along with rating/pricing methods
Travel: Travel 25% - overnight travel required
- Knowledge of interpreting coverage forms
- Negotiation skills
- Experience selling and/or marketing insurance products & services
- Producer management driving results and managing agency/producer relationships
- Strong customer service skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Presentation skills
- Excellent PC skills and a working knowledge of Windows environment a valid drivers license and carry vehicle insurance coverage.

The company offers a competitive compensation plan and robust benefits package for full time regular employees including:
Base Salary Range: 160k-$190k
Eligible to participate in annual discretionary bonus
