Job Description
DPR Construction is seeking a qualified candidate for the Accountant position in the Corporate Finance & Accounting Department. Essential duties and responsibilities include:
- Demonstrates in depth knowledge of accounting principles
- Prepare and review monthly journal entries account reconciliations and supporting schedules to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
- Analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts investigate variances and resolve discrepancies.
- Support the month-end quarter-end and year-end close processes ensuring compliance with established deadlines and accounting policies.
- Assist with intercompany transactions and reconciliations
- Partner with operational teams to understand business activities and ensure proper accounting treatment.
- Perform special projects other ad-hoc duties as needed
Additional position requirements include the following:
- Bachelors degree in accounting with 1-3 years experience; CPA preferred
- Intermediate/advanced excel skills
- Be able to demonstrate strong commitment to confidentiality and handling of sensitive company information
- Manage key relationships internally to provide different viewpoints for a shared solution
- Successfully manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy meeting deadlines and exercising sound judgment with limited oversight
- Challenge existing practices and proactively recommend innovative solutions that improve both accounting operations and business outcomes.
- Act as a catalyst for continuous improvement helping transform accounting from a transaction-processing function into a strategic business partner.
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail a process-oriented mindset and a proactive approach to problem-solving continuous improvement and task execution.
