About the role

The selected professional will be responsible for monitoring critical IT environments identifying alerts and incidents performing initial troubleshooting and ensuring proper escalation to the relevant technical teams.

This role requires strong attention to detail the ability to follow operational procedures and a service-oriented mindset working closely with infrastructure support cybersecurity and project delivery teams.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor IT systems networks servers and applications using monitoring tools such as Nagios
  • Detect analyse and respond to system alerts and incidents in real time
  • Perform initial troubleshooting to support root cause identification
  • Escalate critical incidents to the appropriate technical teams according to defined procedures and severity levels
  • Support the monitoring of system availability performance and backup status
  • Register incidents interventions and resolutions in ITSM or ticketing tools
  • Produce regular reports on incidents system health and performance trends
  • Collaborate with infrastructure cybersecurity support and delivery teams to maintain service quality
  • Support operational analysis and problem resolution with client-facing and internal teams
  • Maintain updated knowledge of the monitored systems applications and technical environments
  • Suggest improvements to monitoring processes alert rules and operational procedures

Requirements

  • Experience in system infrastructure or application monitoring roles
  • Knowledge of monitoring tools preferably Nagios
  • Good understanding of Linux Windows and/or IBM iSeries / IBM i5 environments
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP networking concepts
  • Experience with Shell scripting
  • Knowledge of SQL
  • Familiarity with relational databases such as Oracle PostgreSQL and/or SQL Server
  • Ability to perform initial troubleshooting and follow incident management procedures
  • Experience using ITSM or ticketing systems
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work according to defined processes
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple alerts or incidents simultaneously
  • Fluent in English and French

Nice to have

  • Previous experience in production operations or managed services environments
  • Knowledge of backup monitoring and system availability controls
  • Experience working with infrastructure cybersecurity or application support teams
  • Familiarity with ITIL-based processes
  • Experience in international or multi-team delivery contexts
