Job Title: Survey Engineer
Description
The Survey Engineer is responsible for carrying out accurate land engineering and construction surveys to support the planning setting out monitoring and completion of major industrial infrastructure and construction projects. The role ensures that all survey data is collected processed and reported accurately to enable safe and efficient project delivery. The Survey Engineer will work closely with project managers site engineers construction teams and subcontractors ensuring that all work complies with project specifications engineering drawings and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Carry out engineering topographical and construction surveys to project specifications.
- Set out works using approved engineering drawings and maintain accurate setting-out records.
- Establish and maintain site control networks and survey benchmarks.
- Perform as-built surveys and verification surveys throughout all stages of construction.
- Collect field data using Total Stations GNSS/GPS digital levels laser scanners and UAVs (where qualified).
- Process survey data using specialist software and produce CAD drawings digital terrain models and survey reports.
- Maintain electronic survey records and upload data to project management systems.
- Ensure all survey equipment is calibrated maintained and operated safely.
- Support quality assurance checks dimensional verification and client acceptance procedures.
- Follow company HSE procedures conduct risk assessments and report hazards immediately.
- Attend site coordination meetings and liaise with design teams engineers and subcontractors.
- Assist with progress measurement reporting and planning of survey activities.
Qualifications
- Degree HNC/HND or equivalent in Surveying Civil Engineering Geomatics or Construction Engineering.
- Proven experience working on construction or industrial projects.
- Experience using Total Stations GNSS/GPS equipment and digital levels.
- Proficient with AutoCAD; experience with Civil 3D Leica Infinity or Trimble Business Center desirable.
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and construction tolerances.
- Good mathematical and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Full driving licence.
- UAV/drone survey qualification (CAA/EASA) desirable.
