Senior SQL Server Specialist DBA | Performance & Optimization

About The Opportunity

At BindWorks were looking for an experienced SQL Server Specialist / DBA to join a challenging enterprise environment in Porto.

This role goes beyond traditional database administration.

Were looking for someone capable of deeply analysing existing SQL Server environments identifying bottlenecks and implementing improvements with measurable impact on performance stability scalability and availability.

What You Will Do

• Assess and optimize existing Microsoft SQL Server environments
• Perform advanced Performance Tuning and Query Optimization
• Analyse Execution Plans Query Store indexes and statistics
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks
• Troubleshoot blocking locking deadlocks and wait statistics
• Analyse CPU memory storage and I/O performance
• Optimize T-SQL Stored Procedures and database objects
• Perform Root Cause Analysis of production issues
• Improve database monitoring and performance baselines
• Support HA/DR Backup & Recovery strategies
• Automate recurring database operations
• Recommend architecture configuration and capacity improvements
• Collaborate with Development Infrastructure and DevOps teams

What We Are Looking For

• 5 years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server
• Advanced T-SQL
• Strong SQL Server Performance Tuning experience
• Query Optimization & Execution Plan analysis
• Indexing and Statistics optimization
• Query Store DMVs and Extended Events
• Blocking / Deadlock troubleshooting
• Backup Restore & Recovery
• High Availability / Disaster Recovery
• Strong troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis skills
• Technical autonomy and proactive mindset
• Good English communication skills
