About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Robotics Software Engineer to improve the robustness reliability and industrial readiness of an advanced Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) software platform.

This is a highly hands-on engineering role focused on ROS1/ROS2 navigation localization system reliability and real-world robot deployments.

What Youll Do
  • Support the migration of the robotics stack from ROS1 to ROS2
  • Improve robustness and stability of deployed AMR systems
  • Troubleshoot navigation localization sensor and system-level issues
  • Debug across ROS1 ROS2 Docker and Linux
  • Improve recovery strategies fault handling testing and software quality
  • Investigate difficult real-world edge cases and recurring field issues
  • Support customer deployments and production incidents
  • Collaborate with Robotics QA Backend DevOps and Product teams
Requirements
  • Strong ROS1 and ROS2 experience
  • Proven experience deploying robots in real-world/production environments
  • Strong C and Python
  • Experience with navigation localization sensors and robot lifecycle management
  • Strong Linux/Ubuntu troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with Docker Git CI/CD and distributed systems
  • Production debugging and root-cause analysis experience
  • Automated testing and software quality practices
  • Ability to work hands-on across the robotics software stack
Nice to Have
  • AMR industrial robotics or fleet management experience
  • VDA 5050 traffic management or multi-robot systems
  • DDS Kubernetes Rust
  • Gazebo/Ignition and simulation validation
  • Safety-related development / IEC 62443
  • Performance profiling
  • Mapping and localization expertise
Important

This is not a research simulation-only or pure robotics algorithm role.

We need an engineer with real-world robot deployment experience who can diagnose production problems improve system robustness and understand why robots behave the way they do.

The role is approximately 7080% hands-on engineering.
