Job Summary

As a System Function Responsible (SFR) for Safety you will take ownership of safety-relevant system function topics within our automotive radar platform acting as a key interface between system engineering software platform teams hardware/SoC experts and functional safety stakeholders. This role combines technical depth with coordination responsibility and will contribute to long-term development work for future Bosch radar generations. 

Your contribution to something big: 

  • Take responsibility for safety-related system function topics within Bosch radar platforms with a strong focus on SoC hardware/software interaction and sensor availability. 
  • Understand and assess safety concepts for SoCs including SoC management monitoring reset behavior boot behavior and safety mechanism relevance for radar use cases. 
  • Act as a technical counterpart for hardware/software safety topics supporting the clarification of whether observed behavior represents a functional safety issue or an expected system limitation. 
  • Coordinate safety-related development activities triggered by hardware or SoC changes such as new radar processing platform variants updated PHY/interface configurations or customer-specific hardware enablement. 
  • Contribute to Technical Safety Concept discussions by translating system and hardware constraints into clear software and platform requirements. 
  • Evaluate the need applicability and impact of safety mechanisms in the radar context including cases where mechanisms may need to be adapted removed or justified as not required for a specific use case. 
  • Drive alignment with software platform teams and relevant stakeholders to ensure safety requirements assumptions and constraints are understood tracked and implemented consistently. 
  • Support requirements engineering impact analysis change management and risk assessment for safety-relevant system function topics throughout the development lifecycle. 
  • Provide transparency on status dependencies risks and mitigation actions ensuring proactive communication across engineering teams and stakeholders. 

Qualifications :

What distinguishes you:

Education: 

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering Computer Engineering Systems Engineering or a comparable field. 

Experience: 

  • Professional experience in embedded software development system engineering or automotive device development.
  • Experience in safety-relevant or safety-critical environments ideally with ISO 26262 is an advantage. 

Know-how: 

  • Strong software background with solid understanding of embedded systems system requirements software/platform architecture and hardware/software interfaces.
  • Knowledge of SoC concepts boot/startup behavior reset handling monitoring concepts sensor availability and radar systems is highly beneficial. 

Safety understanding: 

  • Ability to understand functional safety concepts and translate them into system software and platform requirements.
  • Experience with Technical Safety Concepts safety mechanisms safety analyses or assumptions of use is an advantage. 

Technical mindset: 

  • Ability to analyze complex technical topics across software and hardware boundaries identify dependencies clarify ambiguous behavior and support sound engineering decisions. 

Languages: 

  • Very good English skills both written and spoken (mandatory).

Working style and methods: 

  • Structured analytical and proactive approach with the ability to coordinate long-term development topics manage dependencies and drive progress in complex environments. 

Personality: 

  • Strong sense of ownership and responsibility collaborative mindset clear communication style and ability to lead technical alignment without formal authority.
