Researcher

The Competence Centre for Molecular Biology (CCMB) is looking for a talented molecular biology/biotechnology researcher to be a part of a dynamic team environment. The selected candidate will work on several molecular biology techniques particularly focusing on food safety and food authenticity.

Job duties

• Conduct and design laboratory experiments and activities defined for projects development including performing complex methodologies
• Actively participate in experimental results compilation
• Regularly report all experimental results and projects development to the R&D Manager
• Support general lab activities (stock management routine maintenance record keeping etc)
• Work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced highly dynamic environment

Qualifications :

Minimum qualifications

• PhD in Molecular Biology Biotechnology or related areas (MSc will be considered depending on experience)
• One year of relevant experience in a molecular biology laboratory environment ideally in food testing

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with DNA/RNA extraction ELISA electrophoresis PCR qPCR digital PCR NGS (Illumina & ONT)
• Familiarity with setup and design of molecular biology assays including primer design.
• Strong data analysis and visualization skills
• Experience with bioinformatics analysis (especially in the context of NGS)
• Fluency in English spoken and written
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office apps
• Solid organizational skills and sense of responsibility
• Proactivity and problem-solving skills
