Junior Accountant

About the Role

Join our Finance team in Lisbon and gain hands-on experience across accounting financial reporting and compliance in an international business environment.This role offers a strong foundation for someone looking to build a long-term career in Finance while working alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative and supportive team.

• Location:Alcântara Lisbon Portugal
• Working Model:Full-time (40 hours per week) -Hybrid (3 days per week in the office)

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Finance Support

• Support daily accounting activities within the Record to Report (R2R) process
• Assist with journal entries and account reconciliations
• Maintain accurate financial records and support documentation
• Contribute to month-end closing activities

Data & Reporting

• Extract and validate financial data from ERP systems including SAP and Cognos
• Support the preparation of financial reports and schedules
• Investigate discrepancies and assist in their resolution

Compliance & Controls

• Ensure appropriate documentation and audit trails for assigned activities
• Support the execution of internal controls and compliance requirements
• Assist with internal and external audit processes

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with R2R Procure-to-Pay (P2P) and Order-to-Cash (O2C) teams
• Collaborate with stakeholders to collect and validate accounting information
• Support the resolution of operational and accounting-related issues

What Were Looking For

• Bachelors degree in accounting Finance Economics or a related field
• Up to 2 years of experience in Accounting Finance Shared Services or a similar environment
• Understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working with ERP systems
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
• Good communication skills in English
• Proactive approach and willingness to learn
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative international environment

Preferred

• Experience with SAP Cognos or similar ERP and reporting tools
• Exposure to month-end closing activities and account reconciliations
• Previous experience in a Shared Services Centre or multinational company
• Internship or student experience within Finance or Accounting
